I had the same amount of overtime for the month of December as I had for January - November combined, 4 evening volunteer commitments, a few other standing monthly social commitments and regular self-care appointments, a spattering of holiday parties to attend and a NYE party to plan, clean and shop for and host at my house. I was getting 5 hours of sleep a night, if I was lucky. I had double and triple events stacked on top of each other almost every night of the month - in fact, on 12/1, I already only had one night free for the month, and that wasn't until after Christmas - and before I knew I was going to be slammed with OT. Yet I still found/made time to go on a couple of dates - with someone I wasn't even interested in to begin with.
If you really want to make it happen, you will. Plain and simple. And just as plain and simple, you don't. Otherwise, you'd be thinking "I haven't seen her in a week. I might not see her again for two weeks. I really don't want that to happen," and you'd get her number.
I will. I should have done it last time our talks went well. It was a missed opportunity .
