I'm 5'4'' and really don't date too often. Other than my height, I'm in better or equal shape to my most athletically built friends (I'm a pretty serious runner) and believe I have an attractive face, but I've learned to just limit approaching girls that are my height or under to increase my chances. My height doesn't bother me or hold me back the slightest bit, but I understand that a lot of girls aren't going to accept my height, so I just have learned to not spend my time dealing with them.
After narrowing it down to my height or under, I have to eliminate the short ones that are overweight, unattractive, and already in a relationship. This leaves a much small pool of girls to work with than most would think.
A couple of my friends believe I'm actually too picky, but we all have our preferences. I'd rather be too picky and single for long stretches of time than waste time and money with girls that I immediately know it won't work out with anyway.
I don't mind a woman who is a bit on the heavier side. I don't mind a woman who is taller than me. I am fine with that. The question is a matter of finding a woman who doesn't mind a guy who is short.
Its all in how you carry yourself. Ever seen a big guy act like a little girl, or the short guy who demands respect by his virtual presense? Sure, some women just are not going to date a short guy, usually they are tall themselves, but that is not the general rule. My father was only 5'8", my mother 5'10" They were madly in love for over 30 years. My father was an agressive scholar of the law and demanded respect. I think he got more respect, by the way he carried himself and showed respect to others, then anyone I've ever known. He could have had all the women he wanted, but was always faithful to my mother, his wife.
My husband of 27 years is 2 inches shorter than me if I don't wear shoes....most times I wear heels....so I'm quite a bit taller than him. I met him when I was just 19...and waited an entire year for him to ask me out...when he picked me up on that first date, it wasn't until I got out of the car as he held the door open or me....that we both realized the height difference. We had never actually 'stood' anywhere near each other for that year of waiting. He was the man of my dreams and still is. Was I gonna let a few inches stand in the way??? NOT ON YOUR LIFE.
imho they will reject a paranoid guy much faster than they will reject a short guy, they dont like distrust. i have also found part of self confidence that they find attractive (which trumps short), is being able to tell him "no" without it crushing him. unpleasant for a woman to dance on egg shells all the time. of course if you are short (under 6 ft) paranoid and easily crushed by women, you are dead meat--- on that note, welcome to CDF saturday night live!!!
The drawback about height is that nothing can be done about it at all. If you're overweight, you can lose weight, if you have a funny looking face, you can get plastic surgery, if you have bad teeth you can get veneers for them or get them straightened, if you're not very cultured you can read books on cooking, or visit museums.
The insecurity comes with not being able to do anything about it IMO.
I think if someone out there invented a pill that could make a person maybe 6 inches taller, they'd surpass Bill Gates as the richest person in America.
