Maybe I should start going to McDonalds more often at least when I strike out it won’t hurt my wallet!

Who says chivalry is dead? A new trend has emerged on the dating scene in which a person schedules a date with someone they aren’t really interested in, just to get a free meal.
I did it in university because I had very little money to live off of after rent and tuition (I didn't qualify for financial aid due to my parents' income despite having zero help or even contact with them). This was despite working 2 jobs while going to school full-time.
I only ordered salads, oily fish, and veggies when I was taken out to restaurants because my body was desperate for fresh veggies and omega 3 fatty acids, since fish and fresh nutrient-rich veggies were too expensive to be part of my regular diet at the time.
And I always went on the dates intending to actually enjoy their company, allowing the possibility of it being a match - which it turned out to be in a few cases. My husband is someone I met that way.
So hate me. I don't care. I refused to go on welfare or commit crimes or drop out of school. Zero regrets.
