The "point" of it, young one, is to find someone that you might enjoy spending time with, based on common interests personality traits, and of course, physical appeal. The only "matching" that the site does, is filter out those people that you don't want to see based on the "check box" preferences you selected. Such a simple concept, really.
No. What is simple in your mind is not simple in my mind. Just like what is simple in my mind is not simple in yours. I could stick you in front of a Catylyst 2600 and yell at you all day to set up VLANS, but you'll never do it. You just have no experience with that.
My two biggest problems.
1) Everybody is an expert. All information conflicts with all other information.
2) I do a plenty horrible job of picking out dates on the street. I don't see myself being any less horrible at it with a computer.

Well interacting with the opposite sex is usually something that comes naturally. Quite a bit different than something that requires a class to figure out. Obviously there are some here that are more challenged at it than others, but it certainly isn't rocket science.

How about I take you up to the Salty Seniorita, on ladies night...at about 1 o'clock when the d00ds are all drunk and touchy feely...and see if you feel at home in that element.

Why on earth would I want to go somewhere like that? I already know that those guys are not the type I'm interested in. That is MY filtering system at work.

I don't have any. I'm too afraid I'll meet up with some pycho killer who will cut off my head and stick it in his freezer ... that and I don't like awkward silences on first dates.
