Well, it appears she evolved and found God etc..and only after her 3 divorces (which is against God's law too according to her strict adherence to her religious beliefs) I then ask..has she signed divorce papers that require her signature as well? since her evolution?? Did she evolve after being sworn in as a Deputy "Government employee"?? I call..she is martyring herself ( bet she has Go fund me going on as I type) for a strictly political reason..and believe me..Democrats would never support her position..tho she got elected as a Democrat..She Sold out..plain and simple!!

Exactly..She can privately ( in her personal life) make whatever decision..but not as an elected official..THAT right there is a "Government" job description which severed personal belief system ...BAM!! Resign..call for a new electoral vote to replace this self-righteous bimbo...whoops..sorry...oh wait..It fits!!

I don't think they are related. Both are county clerks in Kentucky. Both have said they would refuse to issue marriage licenses to Same Sex Couples. I'm not aware of any that have actually been rejected by Casey Davis or if he has had a lawsuit filed against him. However, the federal judge has made it clear that his ruling applies in all the counties of Kentucky, and it applies to assistant county clerks too.

In fact, it specifically prohibits it by preventing the state from establishing a religion.

What religion is the state imposing by this? This is an individual citizen being jailed over a personal religious conviction.

That may well be. But so what? She chose not to. Now she's being jailed over her personal religious convictions.

No, she is being jailed for refusing to comply with a court order to do her job.

The state is not imposing any religion. The state is saying Kim Davis may not impose her religion on citizens lawfully attempting to obtain a marriage license.

No, this is an elected official being jailed for being in contempt of court. In the past, has she signed marriage licenses "Kim Davis, An Individual Citizen" or does she sign "Kim Davis, Rowan County Clerk"?

She doesn't have to. She's an elected official.
