Nonsense. She is being asked to issue marriage licenses; she is not being asked to change her religious convictions.

She doesn't have to obey a court order? The judge seems to think she does.

At the risk of being redundant, she is being jailed for contempt of court. She is not being jailed for being a Christian or for believing SSM is a sin or for having a personal religious conviction. Defying a court order got her a contempt citation, probably because she had no legal defense when she appeared before the appeals court judge to defend her (lack of) action. Incidentally, she's not just a "citizen." She's a public official. That means she took an oath to uphold the law and perform her duties.

Most of the time, when a public figure has a major policy disagreement with the boss, a resignation soon follows. I guess she didn't get the memo about that resignation thing.

In what universe did you learn about the law and civics, Pastor. More and more of your posts undermine your credibility as an educated Pastor.

Elected officials have to do their jobs or risk being told by courts to do their jobs too.

TY TY..So many want to paint this as courts are against her civil liberties..FAR FAR FAR from it!! LOL..On the contrary due to her personal belief system SHE is actually violating the Civil Liberties of others, even when directed by the courts to follow the law!! She is an elected Government OFFICIAL ..yet refuses to follow judicial directive..Humm

She somehow feels she can afford to martyr herself..yet I'm betting she has political backing..which I would love to get outed eventually

A fundamentalist Christian school, perhaps? The same kind of place where they teach that the universe is 6000 years old?

A person of honour would resign.

She's broadcast her lack of it.
