I just heard on the radio she has actually been jailed for it. If that's the case, it's a sad day when someone in this country goes to jail based on a religious belief.

At the risk of being redundant, she is being jailed for contempt of court. She is not being jailed for being a Christian or for believing SSM is a sin or for having a personal religious conviction. Defying a court order got her a contempt citation, probably because she had no legal defense when she appeared before the appeals court judge to defend her (lack of) action. Incidentally, she's not just a "citizen." She's a public official. That means she took an oath to uphold the law and perform her duties.
Most of the time, when a public figure has a major policy disagreement with the boss, a resignation soon follows. I guess she didn't get the memo about that resignation thing.

TY TY..So many want to paint this as courts are against her civil liberties..FAR FAR FAR from it!! LOL..On the contrary due to her personal belief system SHE is actually violating the Civil Liberties of others, even when directed by the courts to follow the law!! She is an elected Government OFFICIAL ..yet refuses to follow judicial directive..Humm
She somehow feels she can afford to martyr herself..yet I'm betting she has political backing..which I would love to get outed eventually

A person of honour would resign.
She's broadcast her lack of it.
