Because the modern-day attitude toward women as sex objects that are only good to satisfy men's needs or to pop out babies and be a single mom is somehow better?

I cannot imagine following the rules of ancient men. It must be difficult for men to give up that power. They cling to women must submit meme.

For some, the world is still flat.

Submission? What does it really mean?

In the context it means that she recognizes he is the Spiritual leader. There can be only 1 leader in the home. Christ is the leader of the church, and the man is the leader of his household. It doesn't mean that she is a worm, or dirt. She is not to be abused, or unloved. She is a helpmate---and to be cherished, and her opinion matters.

Organized religion's subjugation of women will be one of the major factors in the future collapse of fundamentalism.

As women become empowered those weak men won't be able to browbeat and intimidate them with their "holy" books.

You're assuming that society will last long enough for that to happen. Look at our society. Look at the sexualization of America, and how women are abused and mistreated. Look how many women are "liberated" to have 6 baby daddies. And how poorly women get treated by the non-religious who just want them for a night's pleasure.

Is it so bad that a man should actually love and care for his wife?

There is nothing wrong with being a single mother. Single mothers do not pop out babies. They have children. They give birth to children they love, and cherish. You should be supportive of them, and not attempt to vilify them as something terrible.

As far as sex objects? I think we have seen it often in fundamentalist ideologue men, who cry and moan once they are revealed.

Yep. This is the paternal, patronizing attitude that will hasten fundamentalism's extinction.

How can you care about, or respect your wife when you refer to fathers as "baby daddies", and disparage women who are single mothers?

When a woman in your family gives birth does she "pop out" a baby? When you were born did your mother "pop out" a baby?

Do you have siblings? Did your mother pop out babies?
