LOL! It's a story. Samson was a mythical character. If there were lions in first century Palestine, the Romans wouldn't have needed to go to Africa and Asia for them. They may have been there sometime in the past, perhaps a thousand or so years BCE but that was way before your Jesus and his gang were (allegedly) wandering around.
