Nice...
I only think of one thing...a holy temple of some sort filled with meditators..maybe some low chanting
songs echoing within the walls.
Or a place with cool people that use it where I feel at home.
Counterfeit for everything of G-'s; which is why there is nothing new under the sun, amen? Peace
This part hmmm
What is the point of comparison between symbol and reality? How was the fragrance of the incense set free to rise in wreaths of smoke? By being kindled. Whence was it kindled? By coals from the altar of sacrifice. When it was kindled, what followed? It went swirling up in wreaths of fragrant smoke, which were "an odour of a sweet smell, acceptable to God." "Which things are an allegory," and mean that cold prayer is no prayer, that when a spirit is touched with the divine fire it will exhale upwards to God, and be sweet to Him. The cold stick of incense had neither fragrance nor power to rise, and could not but ascend in fragrant wreaths when winged by fire

This is a glorious illustration written. Wow. Thank you.
I'm not Trout, but Nag Champa is the only incense I burn.
You should try it. It's a wonderful scent.

I will burn it before i leave the house to come home to it lingering still...then it is not so strong or smokey,
if that is an issue.

I just posted a pic of Nag Champa for Pleroo in the Pagan forum.
If you mean it smells of light and trees and the outdoors, I agree. And often it smells of even more.
A nice incense always enhances one's milieu.
And its upward drift, like all smoke, is an offering.

edited to add: Nag Champa always reminds me of being in a secluded spot in a deep, dark forest and the trees and the leaves and the rich soil underneath me, everything in those woods are just wrapping me up in safety and love. The soft rays of sunlight filtering through gently is God's touch. I feel God the most in nature. In His creation. The smell of Nag Champa always seems to put that sort of scene/feeling in my mind.
Well, it's for sure not CARM..... is that supposed to be bad?
