We goddless bastards realised that some time ago. That is why it is not about individual horses and trying to make it drink when it is determined not to. It is about having a trough, constantly topped up, and a nation of horses that we invite to drink, if they will.
And I'll hold extending the analogy to people who ride on the horses and poisoning of the well -water...
It doesn't matter what Jesus taught as much as it matters what those who identify with him actually do.
As a retired teacher and school administrator, when students weren't learning, a big part of the blame was on the teacher...not all the blame...but a good part of it. Maybe Jesus wasn't such an effective teacher.

and when they won't drink the punch about "deny everything to stop religion" drown them in the water.
I mean, this was the intense coffee you get served up after dinner, but a jugful of it. I drank three cups and found myself looking down from the ceiling...
So next time, they should try a pool of coffee if the horse doesn’t take water.
