Actually, the topic of this thread is -- is there a hell in afterlife.

And I jumped into the conversation when Nomstad said the Bible was a (questionable) book of philosophy. I countered that it’s a story of redemption. Try to keep up.

Too bad you don't seem to understand what redemption means, jimmie. It is the fulfillment of a promise to send us a Messiah who would reveal and teach the True Nature of God, demonstrate it unambiguously with His HUMAN Spirit, body and life, and achieve what we were continually failing to achieve (missing the mark=sinning). He did it by dying under our savagery and brutality while loving us, including His torturers and murderers, and being reborn as the Holy Spirit connecting us ALL to God so our imperfections would no longer be counted against us under the cover of His perfect agape love (Grace). (Redemption = promise fulfilled.)

lol, at this part we diverge ...

for me, the next step in evolution, a step I predict in 200 years or less, is the second coming. The first coming being us (the Homosapien). one could argue the first homoXXX was the first, and we are like the whateverist.

this is where we need to precise in our langue. witch, due to your belief system, needs to be avoided by you.

living a life of compassion and understanding is never out dated.

living under the rule of "literally died and rised for our sins" is as out dated as the notion of a sun god.

It doesn't appear to be outdated in your belief system because you reference it out of nowhere incessantly.
Do you do it for the shock value or so that the militant atheist will give you some breathing room for insulting believers?

I know, Arach. You countenance the larger life system we are merely a part of but cannot countenance that we are cared about by that larger life (and reproduce it). Having experienced its nature, I have a different bias.

Outdated as of when? Did something change recently?

don't you ever question the fact that you have have to avoid the tuff claims to maintain your religion? that maybe that is telling you something?

you can believe the universe loves you and cares about you. I can give the science that says there are volumes of it that do. I can link back to the standard model for you.

You can believe that and not fall for the story about literally deing and rising for our sins ya know. If your friends leave you for that ... I would say your lucky.

So you got nothing. The fact that it’s 2019 means absolutely nothing in regards to the Biblical story of redemption.
