All the cells and atoms in your body are being constantly replaced. But you retain your soul. Not only that, but you have a unique soul that entered into existence in what would otherwise be a totally arbitrary manner..............
I am wondering how one can retain one's soul because I find ALL of Adam 'returned ' to dust - Genesis 3:19
Adam was formed lifeless.
Adam did Not come to life before his God breathed the 'breath of life' into life-less Adam - Genesis 2:7
At that point then Adam became a living person, a living soul.
Thus, Adam went from non-life, to life, and at death returned to non-life.
At death Adam became a dead person, a dead soul.
That is why Ezekiel 18:4,20 can say the soul that sins dies
Gospel writer Luke also wrote the soul can be destroyed at Acts 3:23.
If there is a creator, perhaps the biblical story of redemption is important, even comforting to some.
Bravo, jimmie!
That's the closest I've seen you come to speaking from your heart.
It's unfortunate your brand of Christianity is focused on fostering fear. And that you need to believe magic words to save your eternal soul from your god-thing's hell.
you are mixing up a story of redemption, which in of itself is fine, with putting people in hell for ever.
people do the same thing with accountability and free will. Some people just can't separate notions.
a god as smart as you think yours is knows we can have redemption without eternal damnation as some people teach.
I’m glad you understand the Bible is a story of redemption. I’m pleasantly surprised!
