Once there were some ants in an ant hill with no outside entrance. They worked hard all day, but sometimes after a day's work they would just relax and talk. But they had their differences.. some of the ants thought that there was more to the universe than their ant hill, and some were quite certain that there was not.

"Listen," one ant would say, "can't you feel the earth shaking? That is Human walking around."

"Hahaha," the other ants would reply. "There is nothing beyond this ant hill. Those rumblings you say you hear are just a figment of your imagination. Prove to me that there is something or someone beyond this ant hill."

But, the ants could not get out. There was no way to prove, with the materials or evidence inside the ant hill, that there was life outside the ant hill. But they knew it. They heard it, and believed.

Can you please show me where it says this in the Bible? This isn't at all what we're here for. God doesn't care about our "Best Life Now" and Jesus didn't die on the cross so we (Christians) could be rich.

Our purpose on this earth is to love God, love our neighbor, and be continually transformed into the image of Christ daily. In the old covenant, people were blessed more materially, and God does bless people that way today, but the new covenant blessings are more internal and spiritual.

Christianity is all about Jesus, not us. Forsaking all things, picking up our cross and following Him, even unto death.

Golly, how delightfully original of you. That response is getting really old, really lame, really fast. Where is your proof that He doesn't? See how back and forth this can endlessly go?

God is all around us. He is not invisible. Look at what you see that you can not explain. Our existance. Even if you believe we came from monkeys where did the monkeys come from. Look at the stars and see the millions of galaxies that hold billions of stars and planets. Look at the earth and understand life is bigger then any book.
Life is a learning lesson to see the unseen and feel what it is to love, hate, pain, sadness and understand the differences. To be born to die, to love someone and lose someone. To give birth and lose a child is a lesson of the heart. It's to understand the feelings and complex world of life. To find God you only need to look within your heart, no church no book will make you except his existance. You only need to think outside the rules, the box. Be humble, open minded don't follow... just understand. Don't force, don't judge only learn. If you never had pain or sadness would you know what happiness and joy really is. You can't learn from each other without feeling both.

Why did the one ant say that it is Human walking around? Where would he get that idea?

My point: Even if (and that's a big if) the ants have definite knowledge that there is life outside of their anthill, there is no way they could ever know what that life is. They can speculate of course...but I see no reason for them to believe that there is any such thing as Human.

people have to understand the mind of god, when they read his word.....just like faith it means ,...when god speaks things happen a person must believe before they see it........its like someone believed they can fly in the air ,first in their mind......thats how plains came to be

I agree that there are some flaws with that illustration, but does it really matter where the ant got the idea? The fact of the matter is, there was a Human walking around.

One thing I was trying to point out was the folly of trying to "prove" scientifically the existence of something that is outside the realm of what can be tested scientifically...

Yet other Christians always mention that nobody can ever understand the mind of God and that it is not our place to do so. That's why we can never really understand why bad things happen to good people etc., etc...
