Well, not everyone has kids and grandkids and great-grandkids who still come Home for the Holidays; you're very fortunate!

I bought a live wreath at Redwood City Costco before we came back to Arizona. Embellished it with some ornaments and what-not. Then left it on the front door.

I would have bought a wreath for the Scottsdale place but this is one of those neighborhoods where everyone including us has a 12 ft tall door. Hard to use a wreath hanger and I can't jump that high.

I do -- with a tree and wreath and some other stuff. No outdoor lights. My daughter spends Christmas with me...except that I tested positive for Covid this morning. Bummer.
Merry Christmas.

I was never a big holiday decorator retired or not. Other than displaying the few Christmas Cards I received on the fireplace, I don't decorate the inside. The fireplace is one of those old Victorian style ones with a large mirror and 2 mantels so there's plenty of space for cards.
I can't remember the last time I had a tree indoors. I really would like to get one of those little ceramic trees with lights. Maybe they'll be on sale somewhere after Christmas.
My house was built in 1905 and has bay windows. I bought inexpensive single candle battery powered lights and placed one in each bay window. They change colors constantly so they are fun and show nicely from the outside.
My front porch has a bright yellow rocking chair where I placed a large stuffed white teddy bear with a Santa hat along with sleigh bells and a wreath on the front door. That's the extent of it.

That sounds lovely, Marino. I didn't realize you'd bought a historic house? Except I'd go with classic white candles lights of multicolor, given the (assumed) grandeur of the neighborhood!

Marino, that all sounds lovely!
Love the teddy bear idea.
Pretty sure you can get those ceramic trees at Hobby Lobby, sometimes even at Walmart.

It's just a small Queen Anne house which sits just outside the border of the historic district. I would be embarrassed to tell anyone how little I paid for it.
Owning and living in an antique house was high on my bucket list.

Marino, I love your front porch and fireplace! I lived in an old house in Wisconsin that we lovingly restored over 14 years as we could afford it.,It was my favorite place. Plus I raised the kids there.

Is that vinyl (or aluminum) siding? Wish MY historic district would allow me to cover the peeling original clapboards on my 800 sf 1875 Freeman's cottage in the downtown district. I also bought mine for a song, but am ready for a nice modern condo next having gotten "living in an antique house" out of my system.

Beautiful fireplace! I have a cute little one; originally coal-burning, but now strictly ornamental (bricked up).

I'm also ready for a working alternative heat source (either wood or gas fireplace).

UPDATE: I finally hung my fake wreath on the nail outside. With care.
