Daughter relocating to Providence and will be working near Branch Avenue. She is looking for an apartment that is safe, has a workout room and/or swimming pool, walking distance to restaurants, shops, etc. Don't want to live somewhere that it will take her an hour to get home because of rush hour traffic. Prefer an Apartment building or complex to renting part of a private house. Washer-dryer a plus. Thanks.

She could look in downtown Providence to meet those criteria and also to be convenient to Branch Ave. I think there's a couple of buildings that have both workout rooms and pools; Avalon at Center Place and the 903 Apartments. They both get mixed reviews at Apartments Rated.com. I believe going outside the city, the city of North Providence has some modern complexes, Cranston may have some.

I hope she's aware that Providence is a very old and charming historic city that is not loaded with new buildings. Most people who rent do so in flats or houses with apartments, single family houses, or older small complexes (no pools, no workout rooms).

Thank you for responding. I believe that her objective is finding an apartment in Pawtucket now. Any suggestions there?

She might start with Oak Hill since this would be convenient to Branch Ave- though this area can be variable.
Pawtucket is a pretty gritty old mill town with a lot of poverty pockets- nothing to write home about- but that's why rents are less.
Quality Hill has some formerly beautiful huge Victorian mansions but the current demographics of the area are not great- however, on the right street and in the right place it would probably be OK.
