I've seen the Elvis impersonator a couple of times before. One time he was playing full throttle air-guitar. Bless his heart.

I'm trying to make out what the T stands for on the Mercedes' plate.

Thanks for the pictures tortuga29 and perticusrex!

The Sweet Pickles Bus--loving the groovy name.

A good Friday to all

It's the "T" plate series from TxDOT. It's the "T" for Texas! Doesn't really mean anything other than if you cant create you personalized plate in one of the other designs, the "T"plate will usually have it. But when the plates being read, it would read "TPINCHE" instead of just "PINCHE" . But the "TPINc" one makes me laugh

I totally forgot about this thing. Saw it downtown while I was on the way for jury duty. http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/381872_356743287674382_100000161416915_1742387_206 0475520_n.jpg (broken link)

sorry, the sizing is off but here's something I saw today. In case you can't read it, it's the Dodge "chingon" edition.

....gorgeous patches of bluebonnets along 1604 by SeaWorld....as well as intermittent blue lakes of the same on Hunt Lane off 151 in Westover Hills---an idyllic feast for the eyes after a long day.

Thanks for the pictures mrsb057 and tortuga29!

I know that look...that's what happens when you're hit by someone uninsured, your insurance company decides to total out your car and only give you $700 because the car is 15 years old, and then you have to spend the whole $700 replacing the tires that were destroyed in the wreck (when the uninsured driver pushed you and your poor car in a 180 and off the road into a guardrail so they could drive off in their Caddy) and paying the state blood money...I mean, paying for a salvage title (in other words, paying tax, title, and registration again a month or two after you already paid registration for the year). And then you decide after all that trouble, you're going to get whatever miles you can out of your poor old car, which was perfectly fine before it was hit.

At least that's the story behind my beat-up green wagon...it's not the one in the picture, I replaced a door and glued everything I could with epoxy, but it ain't pretty I save the pretty vehicle for going places as a family. The lovely thing about the wagon is that not even panhandlers will ask you for money, your coworkers never ask you to chip in on anything because they think you have no money, and you get good prices at garage sales because people think you're really hard up.

I worked the total loss department at a major insurance company I always felt bad totalling out vehicles that I knew would put the owner in a crappy position. There was always salvage buy back but that really leaves them nothing after they "buy the vehicle back" from the insurance company.

It was a life lesson...I shouldn't have filed a claim. You actually can't drive the vehicle while you're waiting for the salvage title and at that point it was our only vehicle. (hubby actually listens to that annoying radio money guru about drivng a junker to save money ) For the money we spent renting a car while waiting on the salvage title, I ended up losing money on the whole deal.

It was just one of those unlucky things. I didn't blame my insurance company at all. The girl who hit the car was uninsured for three days and one of those three days was the day of the accident. She actually drove right home afterwards, a witness followed her and got her plate number and address for the cops, who went to her house but she didn't open the door.

I actually have the body panels I need to fix the car right, they're just in the garage waiting for my motivation to put them on (taking them off was not fun, I bought them off a junked wagon in a field in San Marcos and had to take them off in the dark with fire ants the size of cockroaches running up my legs). I'm also a little superstitious, if I fix the body of the car then with my luck the engine will realize it's got 225,000 miles and decide to crap out.
