I've heard good things about Logans, but the one time I went there it wasn't very good. It could've just been an off day, though, because nobody else has ever said anything bad about it.
and I drove by CFA a few minutes ago, but didn't see a sign saying the 8th or 18th. Has anyone actually seen the sign up close and can verify a date. I was going to ask one of the workers, but they all had that stop asking me when the store opens look on their faces..

I hear the signs are lit up at the CFA, and they were unloading food today!

I wouldn't doubt it.........I saw him yesterday with no jacket on and wearing chonclas. It was freezing outside. I am not saying it's definitely opening on the 18th, but that's what he swears is the opening date. There's a Chick-Fil-A at Ingram if I'm absolutely dying for one anyway--it's just not that important to me to kick his butt if he's wrong.

Googling it looks like Logan's is a steak place, something the 1604/Culebra intersection currently lacks.

Do any Culebra-ites know if Logan's is a decent steak place and when it is scheduled to open?

Thanks!
Until Texas Roadhouse opened, we used to hit Logans every once in a while. We like it well enough and it will certainly be an added treat to our area. I'd prefer it to be a TRH though.

Went last night to what used to be the Barn Door, just behind Rudy's at 151 and Westover. It's now been converted to a dance hall/bar with a restaurant still hanging off the back end. I want to say it's called the Stockyard or something like that.

Thought it was closed at first, because no lights in the windows, but the parking lot was jammed. Took a chance, and it was just dark because they have the windows blacked out. I had a sirloin, wife and daughter had a ribeye, and son had the chicked fried sirloin... not bad overall, and closer than any other steak house at the moment. EXCELLENT potato skin appetizer too.

Yes, but it isn't at Culebra and 1604...

Just a question: How was the sound in that place? My recollection of eating there when it was whatever it was originally, was that sitting at the table, I couldn't hear myself think due to the loud sounds of every conversation in the place being some how carried directly to my table. I swear, the place sounded like being trapped in an elevator with 40 2nd graders who all had to pee.

Have they done something about that?

Didn't bother me, but 20 years in the Air Force wearing headsets made my ears.... shall we say.... a little less sensitive than most people's?

That's funny. 20 years in the AF of wearing headsets is exactly why my ears are so sensitive to loud places.
