Frankly, I don't know how it can be measured in a place like SF. It's usually sunny in the morning then fog rolls in. The fog might blanket the whole city or just the west side. If half of the city is covered in fog and half isn't, should it be counted as a sunshine hour or not?

It is one of those things you only understand if you live there. Stats can't tell you the whole picture.
Summer time, the beach areas and nearby areas (e.g. the City east of 25th Ave) have coastal stratus a lot, and inland it's sunny. The rest of the year, the coastal stratus is pretty much kaput. In fact, in late fall and Winter, you're more likely to hit Tule Fog in the typical smog basins (meanwhile it's warm and nice at the beach). Even when the coastal stratus is in during summer, the sun is not really blocked, as anyone who got a nice sunburn even though the stratus was in, can attest.

I moved to San Francisco from Las Vegas for college and it was one of the best decisions i've ever made. I love it here. I have no regrets. I miss my family though.

Besides the lack of good pizza, it is the best city I visited.

Imo its one of the few places where people judge the content of your character and not what you look like.
Being from Philly I need my Cheesesteak. One place on Divisadero was great but, in order to be authentic, they flew the rolls in from Philly. By the time they get there they are getting stale

That is none of your business, but yes, for my age, I believe my retirement is well funded. I also had (and still have) adequate savings to quit my job and live without a paycheck for a couple of months in order to follow my heart and better my career.

Now, my quality of life isn't based in an extravagant and wasteful house or a car tha flaunts my status. Those things were compensation fo living in a place I really didn't like very much. I liked the people and I understand the appeal of Texas, but I don't believe it's a very healthy place to live for either body or soul.

My quality of life is all around me every day now. I live in a place where I am inspired, driven and encouraged to live and enjoy my life, find success and experience cultures and urban life, as well as spectacular nature, amazing food, and recreational opportunities that some Texans work and slave for years to afford, right at my doorstep.

Thank you so much for your concern.

There is plenty of excellent pizza in North Beach. A Brooklyner would feel right at home. I'm no cheesesteak aficionado, but I've found some really great sandwiches in this town, too, made with Whiz, if you want it. I'd tell you to skip that, though and get a bacon and cheddar tri-tip sandwich at Buckhorn. You'll forget all about Philly in one bite.

Sorry, that was my fault! Typing too fast without thinking. I meant SF, not Bay Area, but it's good to clarify that other nearby areas get a lot warmer in summer anyhow.

I don't track the whole complaining about the weather thing very well, because I think SF is just about perfect. Where I used to live the weather felt awful to me almost every day, though what was awful about it changed seasonally.

The people I've talked to who don't like SF's weather prefer LA's, so I assume they're looking for more sun and more heat? Seems weird to me.

What they don't know is even though I'm in sweats and wearing sneakers, what I've got in my backpack probably is 10x more expensive that the junk they're carrying: a laptop, iPad, wifi hotspot, and an Android phone. That's low level and bigoted racial profiling, and that was happening to me when I was a law student in the late 90s. Just replace the iPad with heavy law books, a laptop, and whatever other crap I was carrying at the time. That's not changed.

Those douches are still here.
I've decided that most of those types are likely transplants bringing their issues here.

There are a couple of other places around town that get Amoroso rolls from Philly. One place, Jake's Steaks, delivers; I have to stay strong and not order from them every time I get the urge for a cheesesteak.
