So Finper, where do San Franciscans “swim with poop”? And what does Kamala have to do with people pooping on the street for decades and decades long before she showed up? There’s nothing new in this - except the increased clean up. Every city washes their wastewater away similarly. So what’s unique here, other than your obsession with ridiculing SF?

As for the straws, why should plastic straws be littering the world when they replaced biodegradable paper straws only because the plastic industry saw an opportunity to steal the straw market share regardless of any need for the new product over the old?

What certain liberals including Tulemutt don't understand is that many, though not all, vagrants cannot take care of themselves and/or function in society. They look at raising this issue as "demonizing" the homeless, yet they have no solutions. These people need counseling as well as compassion.Yet many resist counseling because exposing their demons to a therapist and/or stopping their use of mind-altering substances.

It's not just a San Fransisco problem.

1. Tulemutt has never in 50 years of voting belonged to the Democrat, or any other party
2. Tulemutt thinks ideologies and partisanship are for lazy intellects
3. Tulemutt, as a retired military Vietnam veteran, has helped veterans in need of benefits including housing and mental health and substance abuse counseling for over 30 years
4. Tulemutt has been a particularly vocal advocate of ‘Housing First’ solutions for chronic homeless

But, you are correct: “it’s not just a San Francisco problem”.

  • 100 drug needles found
  • 300 piles of human feces "throughout downtown" San Francisco
  • young children walking to school regularly come across dirty needles and human feces
  • infectious disease expert says downtown SF "may be even dirtier than slums in some developing countries."
  • "The contamination is … much greater than communities in Brazil or Kenya or India"
  • SF spends $60.1 million on "Street Environmental Services," i.e. street cleaning
  • due to downtown contamination severity, half this amount, $30 million, "goes towards cleaning up feces and needles from homeless encampments and sidewalks."
  • it takes 30 minutes to clean a single pile of feces on the sidewalk
  • supervisor says, "We're losing tourists. We're losing conventions in San Francisco."
And it's easy for liberals to ignore while they continue bragging about CA's economy and how much they contribute taxes to the feds.

Easy to avoid the homeless areas and pretend they don't exist

You've just received 12 imaginary rep points on the Snort scale. 3 points for each of those points.
