I'm starting to wonder if some folks in Atlanta just don't know how huge a tourist destination Savannah has become?

I'm well aware that it is. But some folks are acting as though Atlanta has absolutely nothing to offer in this regard.

REAL fun is walking around my pasture having a drink under a full moon. My bull looks @ me like I'm crazy.

I'm from Alabama currently living in Newnan. I have partied in both cities and I don't know who done this report but Atlanta has too much to offer versus Savannah in nightlife. Savannah's nightlife was better than Augusta's and Columbus's and Columbus was underrated downtown. There's just too much to do in Atlanta in my opinion. Nice joke though....LOL!

I have spent a lot of time enjoying both cities' nightlife and I would say you are comparing apples and oranges. Savannah is a lot of fun, really care-free party atmosphere similar to the vibes you get in New Orleans. Atlanta is more of an urban, cosmopolitan going out atmosphere more in tune with Chicago, DC, NY, LA, etc. Not saying that Savannah is like NO or that Atl is like NY, just similar feelings in how each cities' nightlife "feels".

Completely different. I will say for a metropolitan area that is as small as it is, Savannah is a good time. Basically, if I want a relaxed, not dressed up, just let loose and go with the flow feeling...I go to Savannah. If I want to go out, get a little more dressed up, mingle with the crowds, and feel like I'm "part of it all" in the city, I will go to Atlanta.

They both have their place and my town of Macon could take a few lessons from each!

Good day to you and now I feel like having a cocktail! LOL

I am in Atlanta and I understand. I am not sure why they think Atlanta wins in nightlight with all that sprawl.

Too spread out and not dense. Savannah wins due to being a better party city.

Sprawl has nothing to do with the nightlife scene here; the hot spots for nightlife are all intown locations.

Even so, LA has more sprawl than almost everybody and it ranked 3rd on the list.

Is Savannah worth the trip from Atlanta for a weekend as a single guy? (new to Georgia)

The only thing I remember about it, is my Mom really wanted to go there, 15 years ago. I always assumed it was sort of a quaint, historic type place where Moms go to look at antiques. It does not sound like that is the case.
