Why don't we all get more persnickety and discuss why Puerto Rico, which is a US territory, is included in the lineup?

Virginia-Highland, East Atlanta, Midtown, Little Five Points and Decatur in particular do. To say otherwise is inaccurate.
I dont want my defense of Atlanta's entertainment districts to indicate a lack of appreciation for what Savannah has. I always have a great time there.

Does the report compare Atlanta AND it's surrounding areas to Savannah or just Atlanta? The previous post used the plural "districts"

Including all the other areas WITH Atlanta is sort of like including the entire state. Where do you draw the line?

Maybe I read incorrectly, but it's ATLANTA and SAVANNAH.
Not SAVANNAH and East Point, or Savannah and Decatur. Or Savannah and East Point and Decatur and Little Five Points, and ETC.

Does the Atlanta have a compact section that is easily WALKABLE? If so, how does IT and only IT compare to Savannah's Historic Area Nightlife? It's a matter for opinion. The Report thinks that Savannah is better. Opinion. Not written in stone. Opinion.

It's not that we think the report is so great. It's the difference between WALKING around with a go-cup in your hand and having to drive, find a place to park and then park. How many times does the average guy with a date do that in one night?

ONE area compared to ONE district. Not ONE compared to several districts.

Is ONE a concept too difficult to understand? A district compared to A district. Not districts....plural

I have nothing else to do today...I can keep this ONE area vs. Several areas going all day if you have nothing else to do either. (I learned the difference in First Grade.)

Really? Not the metro, but within the city limits. And not even every neighborhood that falls into that territory, apparently.

To limit Atlanta to its downtown alone wouldn't be fair to Atlanta. Including what lies within it's city limits sounds fair enough to me. It wouldn't include Decatur and a handful of other neighborhoods mentioned though.

Heck, if you wanted to, you could include the southside of Savannah as a district. (though that area of town isn't exactly known for its bars & clubs like downtown is) It lies within the city limits though!

She, by the way. And does anyone else here consider this a fair comparison? Are we really not supposed to consider every walkable neighborhood in the Atlanta metro when making this comparison? Isnt that sort of like asking your opponent to tie one hand behind his back? Atlanta is a metro of well over 5 million residents; it has several walkable entertainment districts. There are things about Savannah that make it completely unique (which is why people flock there), but lets not be obtuse.

Firstly, what's the criteria here? Now I think that people have a point when they talk about concentrated nightlife in Atlanta. I like the neighborhood enclaves and such, but it's still a bit different than having a centralized nightlife scene in the urban core. But even with that, because of the enormous difference of scale, it's really hard to make this specific comparison between Atlanta and Savannah. You also have to consider diversity in nightlife in terms of scenes as well as quality of venues, and of course, Atlanta wins that hands down.

If you walk from Atlanta to Decatur drunk, you will be a walking ghost by the time you cross the Fulton/Dekalb county line. There are some very dangerous areas between Atlanta and Decatur. On the other hand. If Underground Atlanta is still open that would be the ticket.
