Really the only sketchy area between the two is around Ponce de Leon and Boulevard (and I agree that it's creepy). Otherwise, you're passing through Druid Hills, Virginia-Highland and Midtown, which are quite nice.

The poster before yours mentioned WALKING.
I am guessing that you are talking about DRIVING.

Maybe I read incorrectly, but it's ATLANTA and SAVANNAH.
Not SAVANNAH and East Point, or Savannah and Decatur. Or Savannah and East Point and Decatur and Little Five Points, and ETC.

Does the Atlanta have a compact section that is easily WALKABLE? If so, how does IT and only IT compare to Savannah's Historic Area Nightlife? It's a matter for opinion. The Report thinks that Savannah is better. Opinion. Not written in stone. Opinion.

It's not that we think the report is so great. It's the difference between WALKING around with a go-cup in your hand and having to drive, find a place to park and then park. How many times does the average guy with a date do that in one night?

ONE area compared to ONE district. Not ONE compared to several districts.

Is ONE a concept too difficult to understand? A district compared to A district. Not districts....plural

I have nothing else to do today...I can keep this ONE area vs. Several areas going all day if you have nothing else to do either. (I learned the difference in First Grade.)
You realize most of those areas are in Atlanta city limits rights?

I dont want my defense of Atlanta's entertainment districts to indicate a lack of appreciation for what Savannah has. I always have a great time there.
Those places have only a handful of bars/clubs. Savannah offers miles of dense walkable clubs for a exciting time.

Guys, all this stuff about "diversity" of clubs and variety is pointless to the average person. It's all about being able to walk and to walk holding your beer. It really does mean more then the number or variety of bars or the big acts. Being able to walk to every bar in the city is what's important.

Oh, yes! That's why we are looking at things from a different angle. You are seeing Atlanta as a whole while we are comparing the "fun" district with a small, few blocks wide area in Savannah. Not the Metropolitan area of Savannah, nor the City Limits but the SMALL area within the Historic District. ONE SMALL area. One Walkable area.

The rest of the Savannah area simply can't compare with Atlanta in anyway except that we are nearer to the ocean.

Untrue. Virginia-Highland's entertainment district stretches for well over a mile up N.Highland Avenue, from Freedom Parkway up to Amsterdam Avenue. Decatur's district runs up Ponce de Leon from Northern Ave to Commerce Dr. and runs around the couthouse square. Midtown's runs up Peachtree from Ponce to 16th and is paralleled by Crescent.

Are we discussing which WE think is better, or are we discussing what the Writer of the Article is giving HIS opinion on?

I really don't think that the WRITER of the REPORT is looking at Atlanta as a whole. Maybe he is wrong, maybe I am wrong, but I think that he was paid for the article AS IT WAS WRITTEN. I doubt that The Writer had a chance to see ALL of Atlanta.

The article says "Savannah" and "Atlanta" not "Savannah historic district" and " Atlanta midtown".

Homes stretch that far. The sidewalks don't even last that long.
