I live in The Dalles, Oregon - and the cooler summers of the Seattle area are one of the biggest attractions. I don't function well when we get a week or more of temps in the 90s and 100s. Even the windy 85-degree days can be very annoying if the wind is kind of muggy and it stays warm at night. (For us, "muggy" means a dewpoint of 55-60F) I'd rather have it stay in the 70s and low 80s most of the summer, with an occasional hot spell here and there.

Hah! I grew up in The Dalles!

I spent the first almost eighteen years of my life there and couldn't wait to get away from the wind as soon as I was old enough to get out on my own.

My remaining brother still lives there.

At least it's a dry heat there; I don't remember it being muggy at all.

Memories - I rode my horse from one end of that town to the other many times, north, south, east, and west.

Yes it has been fabulously nice lately. How have we gotten so lucky? Been pretty tame this winter as far as rain goes, which is a good thing to me!

Me, too!

I have had exactly two light dustings of snow this year - so different from past years.

Here we are, the first week of January under our belts, and I have seen or heard nothing to indicate there are any dicey forecasts ahead of us (knock wood).

Like the bumper sticker says, "Seattleites don't tan -- they rust!"

What bi-polar weather today! Very windy this morning, followed by torrential downpour and hail, a VERY loud thunderclap, then it was sunny for a while, then the clouds came back in and it started to drizzle again.

Fourth winter in Bellevue. Fourth year I have been so grateful to have moved here away from the Midwest/NE US and associated winter weather there.

In fact, this winter weather seems the best yet in my four years here. And last year overall was super.

I have been watching the Seattle weather on google for awhile now and even today, it says for today and the next week it will be partially cloudy and partially sunny. I've been seeing this partial cloudy/sunny much of the time that I look. Is Google weather that far off or are all these complainers about the weather in Seattle failing to mention that the sun does shine, even if just for a brief period of time?
