BTW, for context, I'm voting for West for governor so I'm not an Abbott fan, and I'm currently sick with what is probably COVID, most likely picked up at a local medical center, where everyone was wearing masks...
Want to get sick, go to a hospital.

For a vaccine that doesn't stop transmission or stop spread (so really isn't a vaccine). This push to vaccinate children will not end will, and if you think the mask debate is getting heated, just wait for the push to vaccinate kids.

Here's an example of why you should get vaccinated: According to the New Braunfels Herald Zeitung, 98% of the COVID-19 patients in Comal County hospitals are unvaccinated. The biggest benefit of the vaccine, besides lessening your risk of getting it, is that if you do get it, you have an astronomically lower chance of being hospitalized for it. My 10-year-old son wants to be vaccinated because he understands the risk of getting COVID.

Youve missed the point of the benefits of a vaccine. Its to keep you from getting seriously ill more than it is to keep you from getting the virus at all. To that end, this one does its job.

The reason our hospital ICU’s are full to capacity is because of the unvaccinated deniers.
They are the problem.
The factual data clearly shows this.

Since there is no longer available rooms at the hospital.... Texas just ordered more refrigerated trucks to be used as morgues. Been a Good year for the Texas funeral industry.

My 10 year old daughter wants it too.

As it stands right now, people all around me are either quarantined due to "being exposed to covid" or have covid. One of them is very close to dying.

The vaccine isn't perfect and it is not 100% protection, but it's definitely better than nothing at all. My daughter got the flu though vaccinated but it was far milder and she was out for only a day.

Medical professionals all over are saying that a majority of the patients showing up at the hospitals with COVID are unvaccinated and their outcomes are far worse. But at least those adults had a choice. Under 12 kids don't have anything available to them, and the rush to send them back in the midst of another covid resurgence is irresponsible.

It looks like 1,081 teachers/students tested positive in the entire county and the rest of the 5,600 likely had to quarantine due to being in close contact.

Unfortunately there isn't much information as to how many people were vaccinated. I think it would be helpful to know how many of these end up being severe cases, too.
