LOL tell where anyone is paying 7 bucks - heck even the dayworkers at home depot and lowers want 100-120 day! Nice try.

It’s a body shop in San Antonio. All of his employees are illegal and most if not all are from Venezuela. It is 300 feet from where I work.

There are millions and millions of homeless, unemployed and under employed US citizens and because of this I don’t think we should be giving jobs to illegal or legal immigrants at this time. Once we help people get back on their feet then maybe we can open the borders to more immigrants. And that goes for any country. I know this is a bold statement but that is what I think. It would certainly hurt business owners that rely on hiring cheaper immigrants but in the long run I believe it would do more good than harm for US citizens.

Those immigrants we get should be helping their own countries get better.

It’s kind of like how every small town kid with a bright future has dreams to move to the big city. This has made most small towns a lot worse places to live than they used to be. People should be proud of where they are from and work to make it better as opposed to just running off. If every non American moves to America then it will just leave the rest of the world worse off.

I am fine with the immigrants that are already here staying here but I don’t think it is necessarily a good thing.
My entire life, we've had unemployed/underemployed US citizens (and usually more than we do now), so I'm not sure immigrants affect this much. What is the national unemployment rate, like 3%?

Seems to me like there's more jobs than people to do them. I could understand this sentiment if we were in a recession with high unemployment, but I don't understand this stance in a strong economy.

I don't have the numbers in front of my face but the Labor Force Participation Rate is down several percent over the last couple or three decades. Part of the reason U3 looks so good is lots of people have opted out and now more and more are retiring.

So you are happy that these couple owners are cheating by not paying fed and ss taxes? let me know how that works when you are on ss in a few years. Why not turn the cheating holes in like a good law abiding citizen? Or PM me there names and address and i will!

I moved here from Chicago and dislike Illinois only slightly more than Texas.

Illinois is a dying state run by corrupt politicians who want to tax everything but at least you have more personal freedoms like buying alcohol after 9pm on Sundays, buying cannabis, and freedom over your own body.

Texas doesn't have as many nickel & dime taxes like IL, but there are still plenty of ways they tax you here. The toll roads in DFW are one of those things. The people who run the state are bought and paid off by the mega corporations and try to pander to the evangelicals which in my opinion is the worst combination.

I think I'd much rather live in a state like Montana, Vermont, or Maine but I just can't deal with those winters.

I have a bigger issue with our governor using time and tax dollars to slow down products coming from Mexico and bus illegal immigrants to Washington DC (tax dollars)
and at the same time, do ABSOLUTELY nothing to reform ERCOT and improve electrical reliability in Texas.

I dont and hope he sends more buses every day to chicago, portland, seattle, dc and ny. Maybe you should turn your anger to the troll in the white house that is doing nothing to stop the illegals and drugs- At least he tried unlike the part time occupant in washington. And i assume you dont care about the 300 people that die due to fentanyl every day?
