Texas absorbed tens of thousands of Katrina victims. We can probably absorb some Michigan people, too.

Read the BW story, and prepare for another huge bunch of folks....keep in mind that 10,000,000 people live in Michigan........hey, Texas has got jobs for everyone, and welcomes all with open arms, right?

One reason is because Michigan people will be coming here to work. Many from New Orleans came from not working there to not working here.

BECAUSE WE TALK WITH AN ACCENT.....they ASSUME WE ARE STUPID........NOT! but after living 20 years now in sunny Florida and dealing with it daily I just deal with it now. AND I have an MSN degree now so take that you yanks!!!!!

We should now give FLORIDA to the north as they are mostly here now anyway..........Iwould not care....BUT they are always talking about how things are done better up north AND BETTER UP NORTH.....

What does an MSN degree have to do with anything and why are you directing it toward the northerners? They don't care.

Speaking with an accent doesn't make someone stupid anymore than having a degree makes someone more intelligent. A degree might give one more book knowledge in a particular field, but I have found in my many years on this Earth, one is either intelligent or one is not. Also, a degree gives no one common sense either. That's another thing one is blessed with or is not.

And there is room from Dallas, Waco, Austin, San Antonio, Houston, West TX, and parts of East TX(it is backwardz out thrr) I think that 500K will move to Texas, ATL, and Charlotte.

It's not all super hot. Here in Amarillo TX we have pretty chilly winters with lots of wind. Third windiest city in the U.S. (windier than Chicago).

My only fear of the influx is that the state turns more liberal. It's already happened a lot from the influx into Austin from California. Much of what makes this state very special is our dislike of taxes, and government. That's one of the big reasons we are in a position of strength now. As long as people understand that by moving here they are conceding that the political dominance of their last state FAILED, and why it FAILED, then welcome to Texas. Have a Shiner, and a kick your feet up on the porch and watch the kids throw some shoes.
