I was born and raised in Dallas. I never thought of it as being dangerous until I grew up and started moving to other states and other cities in Texas. Dallas is very scary to me now. The scariest place is where my grandmother lives. They call it "Pleasant Grove". It's in East Dallas and several people on her street have been murdered. My aunt was murdered not too far from there. We run from our cars right into the house and lock and bolt the doors. I was sitting in my car one day and saw a car coming down the street just hitting the cars. Craziest thing I've ever seen! Very very scary and dangerous place.

Pleasant Grove is one of the worst areas within the worst areas of Dallas as a whole. You can't taint the entire city of Dallas by comparing it to its worst component.
