Oh yes, sounds perfect!
We do not have an exact move date, but it will be sometime after the 1st of the year. It is going to be a real change for my 2 girls (who will be 2 & 3 years old in December.)
I do not have much in the way of "winter wear", so I need to get shopping.
Any suggestions you can give me would be greatly appreciated!
(We are moving to the Reading area.)
Thanks again!
Stephanie

Hah! I still have the top down on my car. Beautiful weather! Who says we don't have fall?!

Speaking of leaves falling...we were playing golf yesterday and could not find our ball sometimes b/c of all the leaf litter...the trees know.

It will be a shock to your body when you experience the numbness of Winter! For example...

--you go to get into your vehicle and find out you can't open the doors because the locks are FROZEN shut! We actually sell a device up here that you stick in the locks--it heats it up and unthaws the lock!!

--you can't feel your toes inside your shoes because they are frozen!

--the cold actually takes your breath away.

OK...I'll leave you with those thoughts!!

I would be happy to give you suggestions--Go to the nearest Wal-mart and buy heavy coats/gloves/boots/hats--I doubt that you'll find these items in Texas What part of Texas are you living in now?

Your girls are going to LOVE Winter---sled riding, ice skating, building snowmen, making snow angels...Get ready to play in the snow! I do love that first week of snow...then it can go away as far as I care! There's something to be said for a "White Christmas" though. I know it's going to feel very strange when I experience my first Texas Christmas without snow. I have a feeling I'll get over it though!!

By the same token.....wait until you have your first summer in Austin!

You'll melt! Central Texas is incredibly hot and very humid--second only to South Texas in the misery index!

But....every other season is wonderful. The main problem is that summer lasts so LONG in Texas. After a lifetime of hot, hot, hot weather, I decided to head for cooler climes...and while I need to be close to Texas for now--I may head even farther north once I don't have to drive back and forth!!

The difference here is that the summer isn't as hot, it's dry and it doesn't last 6 months of the year. We had our first freeze day before yesterday!

Enjoy Austin and Central Texas. It IS a beautiful, beautiful area. I get down there from time to time because Sis lives south of Austin!

I visit Austin every Summer, so I know how hot it gets! I don't care as long as I have a pool and AC! I'd rather be hot than cold. That shoveling snow and raking leaves is for the birds! I'm sore for a solid week after doing my leaves.
