They won't go below 4K. This is the message they sent me. I offered them 3K.

"Hello John,
We do not simply re-sell vehicles that we purchase from the auction like most dealers do, we check them, personally drive, and recondition. On this exact vehicle we did head gasket (one side) new radiator, new antifreeze, new valve cover gasket, we also cleaned and repainted the valve cover, new thermostat, and possibly something else. We check brakes, brake lines, A/C, power widows, power mirrors, power seats, and if anything is not working we fix it or replace it.
$4000 is the minimum we can do on this vehicle considering all the repairs we did on it."

Nice car... these were great year for Camrys and 1991 was the last year for this body style. This is also top of the line LE V6. Should last another 200K or more.

Check the belts and hoses... the tires also look rather aged.

Only if I had absolutely no other choice. I think you can do better, keep looking.

If this was the 1992-1996 bodystyle, I'd say it's worth every penny.... But 1991.. Ehhh... I would not pay more than $2500. Keep looking, you'll find something better. Never overpay for an old car.

If this car was in houston, it ll be gone in a heart beat. Gone as in stolen for parts. All those parts might be worth more than the car.

Northeast car without rust. Impressive.

Maybe 3500. But I would have to resell it because it's so ugly.

Too bad for them. Don't make a bad investment and then expect other people to pay for it. You can buy a 1971 Pinto and put $20K in to it, doesn't make it worth $20k.

4K may not be a bad deal for something like that will likely last another 200K miles. It sounds as if they thoroughly went over the vehicle with a fine tooth comb. If you're going to pay 4K and are serious about buying this thing, see if they will throw in some sort of warranty since you're paying a bit of a premium price. I'd also want them to change all fluids, a vehicle of that age should be running premium fluids to keep things in good shape. Synthetic oil & tranny fluid, long life coolant, etc.

I think buying any car through eBay is tricky. You haven't seen it and you don't even know if the independent mechanic you hire to inspect it isn't the seller's brother-in-law. I'd be cautious.

If you don't need it right away you can try back with them in a month or two and see if the passage of time has made them more flexible.

yeah....worth maybe 1-1500.

camry wagons were not common back then. the 4 cyc were better than the 6. I use to have 1990 sedan which pushed pass 300k miles on the odo.....that car was bullet proof.
