I can no longer soak in a bath tub which I really used to enjoy. I was wondering if any motels/hotels any where would have a walk-in tub specifically for mobility impaired folks.
Back in the '80s when hot tubs 1st came out, up north in MA there was a spa-like place to rent hot tub use for an hour which was really a treat and so great. Now as we are older and less able to step in and down, you would think some lodging facilities or spas would at least offer a couple to rent in-house specifically for soaking enjoyment to those with limitations. I guess I'm probably dreaming. Sitting on a chair in the shower just doesn't give one the same satisfaction.

This website goes into great detail about what accessible hotel rooms require.
We have found many Best Western's have remodeled in the past few years and have installed walk in showers (not tubs) in some rooms. We call in advance and reserve ours. And they're really nice, you can just walk in or roll your wheel chair in. They also provide shower sitting chairs if needed.
If you want a handicapped-accessible hot tub, the best option might be to try to find a property where the communal hot tub by the pool has a handicapped lift installed.
We have found handicapped rooms at the more moderate priced chains. Wife has MS and climbing into the tub can be tricky. The problem with the walk in showers is the water can really go everywhere on the bathroom floor so we have to be careful about putting down towels. The bathrooms are not as luxurious as the regular rooms but they are more user friendly .
