Does anyone have information of whether MacNeill began and/or finished residency? I can never find anything past one year, which would be an internsbip only.
Also, these headlines was he was a "well-regarded" physician, who are the physicians who regarded him well? Why didn't he ask one of his fan club (If it existed) to do his wife's surgery vs. the newest plastic surgeon in UT County?
I haven't seen any media reports that clarify that the Utah State Developmental Center was the state facility that cared for the most profound and severely DD/MR residents. Not all of that area's local medical community shared the same views about the most severely disabled patients in the state. The contracted sub-specialists tended to live in Sale Lake County.
As someone too familiar with MacNeill's medical practices, I never would have let him treat me or anyone I loved.

The players- Ada was a biological granddaughter not daughter.
This is useful to keep the people straight. I did not know that Ada was a biological granddaughter being raised as one of those adopted. I did know one more was adopted. Glad the media added that fact and McNeill sending her back.
Daughter Rachel found bloody clothes in the garage.
I hope someone can educate me about the bloody clothes. I glanced at HLN's photogallery and saw the blood spots.
Are there allegations of Mac Neill hitting his wife or some other physical encounter resulting in her clothes having blood on them?
I don't understand why no one objected about the defense stating Rachel MacNeill was bi-polar and had "delusions and hallucinations " Aug. 2012. That would have been more than five years after Michele lost her life.
As hard as Alexis and Rachel have had to work to get their story out nationally, who wouldn't fall apart after what these daughters have had to relive daily? IMHO, another example of MacNeill victimizing his own daughter. He had to have told his attorney the clinical info.
What really angers me is there was no mention of how a person with a bi-polar diagnosis can function well on appropriate medications.
I think the defense hurt their case by making the daughter who had to relive the entire trauma, being treated like the murderer.
This daughter may have come across strange but she showed real emotion. How a father can sit their with no emotions on his face...the gf gypsy sitting there like she is seducing everyone and what I still don't get is when a man has a sophisticated wife how they can fall for a gf like this!
But that shows what the man stood for, nothing than a cold blooded self centered man.
I wonder how he will react when Ada will testify and how the defense will handle her...that maybe interesting, if they act the same as with Rachel they can kiss. McNeil goodbye!

Unless I got the daughters mixed up, Rachel is the bio mother of Ada. I worry who the father may have been. After all, this jerk goes on trial for "sexually assaulting an adult female relative," in Dec.
I agree the man stood for nothing and made a mockery of everything from love to patient care.
Michele's sister has a couple of good basic websites she keeps updated. I'll have to find and post at least one here. They essentially contain the same info.
HLN says MacNeill was a psychiatrist but I don't think that is correct. I believe the contracted psychiatrist still continued when MacNeill became the medical director of USDC. And he wouldn't have practiced general medicine at BYU's Student Health as a psychiatrist. He should have been an internal medicine or FM doc in that position as he was required to provide general medical care.
I also can't find any residency training info on him.
He absolutely did horrible and unforgiveable things to his family. I would like to say he was a better doctor, but that was never what I was told from several firsthand sources.. Of all his training perhaps his legal training was what came most naturally for him.
And he was getting payments from Social Security or some large agency of about $100 K.
Gypsy started to testify today and will continue on Tuesday. What he saw In Gypsy, I suspect was acceptance and admiration with no accountability.
MacNeill the timeline. Facts about how many in his family died, forged documents, sexual abuse, academics etc..
This is worth the time it takes to read. It shows how early in his life MacNeill was convicted, how long ago a male saw him rape another woman, working at BYU Student Health Center and his dismissal after complaints of sexually abusing patients, let alone all his misdiagnoses ( Yeah, it's in print!!!!!!! so I don't have to write facts I know, but due to needing protecting employees and the "competent, contracted, specialty physicians" MacNeill tried to destroy at USDC, I can't write), and much more.
Finally, some are questioning how he got jobs working with the must vulnerable patients etc. This article also clarifies it is Alexis who is accusing him of sexually abusing her after her mother's death.
This is an education reading how he thought he could commit murder (and potentially did when you read how one questions if he was serial killer) and get away with it unlike those he saw in movies or tv.
I have been very interested in this trial but haven't been able to follow it everyday. I am already convinced of his guilt in murdering his wife. She was a beautiful woman. I wonder why she stayed with him.

You are welcome Annie. MacNeill is personal to me from his intimidating, bullying and lack of medical skill for the most vulnerable DD/MR residents in the state. His tactics to drive the very competent subspecialists who contracted P/T with USDC as well as Sr. Nursing staff out too so he could close the facility for the state.
I never knew his wife, but I personally know several men and women with a long hx of knowing and caring for the most disabled among us.. They were clinical thought leaders who could manage the most difficult patients.
I can't image the betrayal, disbelief and other feelings blood relatives must feel about Michele.
As I wrote before, my posts are for those who can't post for their own selves, due to job security. All of those who actually did the training and gave a damn about the patients. But mostly, I post for "Crick," as I saw and heard the changes MacNeill would no longer allow. I lost Crick unexpectedly in May of this year. If MacNeill could have been 1/100 of the real MD Crick was, MacNeill might have helped someone.
In some ways, it helps me to read and learn about all of MacNeill's criminal past. It took Crick one meeting to know MacNeill was hiding something, and his wife was alive then.
One person really can harm hundreds in the right jobs. No one at USDC knew MacNeill had been terminated from BYU's health center for all his misdiagnoses and sexual abuse.
I hope he didn't violate helpless patients.
