Which is why Heather made the faces when she was joking about how after she married her husband she moved to Orange County, from LA!
That said, Newport Beach often tops the charts for the most expensive housing market in the United States. usnews.com reported last year that the average listing price for a house in Newport Beach was $2,537,126 - so it is a very desirable place to live, and it's absolutely gorgeous.
There are beautiful communities up and down the California coast. That being said, the majority of Orange County is not like Newport Beach or Laguna Beach/Laguna Niguel or even Coto de Caza for that matter. Its full of suburban ghettos like Santa Ana, Anaheim, Stanton, Garden Grove, Costa Mesa...a vast wasteland of cookie cutter tract homes in bland neighborhoods devoid of any culture or character.
And the people in the OC....well, the show is not far off from reality. Its full of pretentious wannabes. People in LA hate the OC.

Agreed. But if you don't live there, there's really no reason to spend time in those parts of the county. If you stick to the beaches and the more historic parts, it's beautiful!
My favorite area is San Juan Capistrano, in the oldest part of town - definitely unique and fun!

The coastal cities are beautiful.
There are even some inland communities that are lovely...
And then, there's the people and their (stank) OC attitude
By the way, could someone please explain why Vicki was trying to turn a crawfish boil into a "dinner party"? Is she really that flippin' pretentious?
She should have told the women that they were being invited to a good old fashioned bayou crawfish boil so that they could wear jeans and (designer) tank tops instead of cocktail attire because no one wants to pinch the tail and suck the head (of the crawfish) in their Versace and Louboutins.
There was no music, no mood setting, no real instruction. And she allowed the catering staff to present the crawfish by placing plastic bags on the table! If these ladies weren't familiar with the ritual, they certainly weren't going to get into the spirit and be appetized by a plastic bag full of ???
watching these and these ladies give me a nasty sneaky back stabbing vibe compared to the other real housewives from other cities...... More like the the real housewives from hell.
Not sure what her name is but the gal who is dating the hispanic guy who she removes his hairs and sells RE.. acts like a MEAN girl.
