Do you mean Jodi Gilmour? I like this show too. I think it is a Canadian based show, so I'm not sure there will be any episodes in the USA. We sure could use a USA version though. Just out of curiosity, I would like to see what is available in a number of various markets. I'm really surprised HGTV hasn't done that yet.
I really like this show. I think Jodi is precious.
Didn't think it was Canadian based ........is it?
Property Virgins is my fave show on HGTV, I would love for Sandra to be my agent when I start looking for my first house in the next 5 years. She seems to be stern and to the point which I like. The only thing that turns me off sometimes is that sometimes the houses are over budget that the Buyer wants and I don't like haggling.
I also like the renting show with the no personality lady, but I wish she would do a episode in the states please.
I also like the renting show...but I'm curious as to how rentals compare in the US to Canada, where it's filmed. Where I live, it's RARE to find a rental that even lets you hang pictures, much less paint and do other structural changes to the place.
As the show title indicates, this is a show for first time home owners. I've been catching this lately and I am not too impressed with what I see.
Let me back up, I do like seeing Sandra Rinomato. However, i think she and her ilk are in a way partly responsible for encouraging the virgins who cannot afford to get into a home with a comfortable margin and causing us all problems down the line. Todays show had people who were approved for an FHA loan, but could not get their house because they did not have enough money to do a conventional loan.
The clock was running, and Sandra told them they had two months to "come up with the money". What? If someone said they don't have the money, and the realtor says ' you've got two months to come up with it', then I'd call that irresponsible.
At the end, they did not qualify for a home, the show ended with them being disqualified. I guess the banks are tightening the screws and not allowing themselves to be put back into the situation of having a possible forclosure. I feel sorry for the couple, but in the end, it was a good thing, they can walk away and save more money and get a better home later.
yea I saw that one too. It was an old one. Sandra is a bit pushy and I hate it when the potential owner says, "it's too small" and Sandra says--shocked,"too small???" If she were buying it wouldn't she be entitled to deem whether it was large enough?? Plus on her show they never show the home inspection. And I hate ,hate, hate and see no sense in her constant,"guess how much it is" crap.

I always think this, too. Also, is it standard in Canada to pay rent with post-dated checks?
Do you guys ever wonder about these couples on Property Virgins? And how they talk to each other sometimes? So rudely...on tv!! And sometimes they turn into total whiny babies...again...they KNOW they're on tv. Wtf?

makes me wonder what some found attractive/appealing about the other quite often.
I've lost interest in all the real estate shows...they just don't seem appealing to me any longer.
