The wealthy homeowners on Cumberland should really "enjoy" the boom box music being played while car owners detail their vehicles.

Yep, you're right, except with the small hill going East on Cumberland may protect them, if not THIS planning and zoning got by the board. Oh, just thought of this, the home owners need to be within, I think, 200 feet or 300 ft? are they were not NOTIFIED by P & Z as required by city law.

Anyway, I still can't believe that this piece of ugly ----, is being built there, I know, I know, I need to let this one go. lol

Not a lot of commercial building going on but there are a lot of townhomes and duplexes permits.

Gee, within the last two years, 200 duplex, town homes, FOR RENT, are being built on East Grande, at this moment. Sure a much smaller complex, but what is the cost to the CITY for THIS development.

Oh, the developer is apparently is consider building with NO zoning change required, what road blocks would the city "throw" up then. Yes, mostly likely when he brings in precise "site plans". You can bet they will undergo "unusual" scrutiny.

Saying all that, I know I sound very PRO the project, but not necessarily? The process, is very interesting TO ME, to watch unfold.

This all just strikes me as though the city council is playing games and trying to appear as if they are doing something. If you don't want the project to happen, just say so and stop trying to pretend there are legitimate reasons to deny it. And if you aren't against it, then put your list of concerns on the table and let the developer address them. But this back and forth seems more like theater than anything else, and I'm not a fan of it.

At the end of the day, the city council represents the people of the city. If the people want it, then they need to tell their councilmen they want it. And if they don't, they say that too. And then the councilmen just have to communicate the will of the people. This doesn't seem that complicated to me.

I personally am for it, with some minor concerns that can easily be addressed by the process. But big picture, I think its a good thing, even though I realize this spurs Tyler's growth into a more metropolitan city which I simultaneously want to avoid. Call me conflicted!
