I'm confused and quite scared to be honest. I have been applying for a total of 10 jobs a week and doing 10 follow ups every week for the last year and NOTHING! I've also taken off my degrees, put them back on, tried to seem like a kid at home with parents who can live off of $10 an hour , etc. NOTHING has worked! PLEASE add more Tiers!!!! If I can't feed my children what kind of a human being am I?

I guess they knew I would eventually need that health care coverage after all. This is how people lose their sanity and eventually lose to life. I followed all the rules. I went to college, did internships, paid my bills on time, lived frugal, and I saved money for a rainy day (Not Rainy Years)!

Stop the Rain Add More Tiers not Tears - PLS!!!
The only way you would not be able to collect EB is if you were terminated due to misconduct...other then that i dont know of any reason why you shouldnt be allowed to collect...

That's a good point, but the other thing is, would she have even received unemployment to begin with, because of misconduct?

In Ga, she would not have.

Based on the screen name brokeinj, I assume the poster is located in New Jersey. If you are found to be terminated for misconduct in NJ, you have a waiting period of several weeks as a penalty -- but then you are eligible for regular benefits and for the EUC Tiers. You are not eligible for EB.

Thumbs up info about tier 5

As of right now, to my understanding (and I may be wrong), the government is only thinking about stretching the deadlines to move on to the next tier which will assist anybody going on to tier 1,2,3 and EB however, for the people on tier 3 now that will go on to tier 4 in around 2 weeks(from today's date 2.2.2010) from now....we have 8 weeks left of unemployment and that is it. We will be totally exhausted. Many will lose their homes. many will starve. Many will not be able to feed their kids. The government, at this point, doesnt seem to be addressing what will happen to those who are going to be totally finished. I know a line must get drawn but are they going to let all of these people go hungry in 8 weeks? I believe I read somewhere that ultimately, welfare would actually cost more federal money than it does to keep the unemployment going. Not to mention that if people don't have any money, they wont be spending money and the local businesses will suffer too. The Government seriously has to weigh out what is more expensive. Keep people on unemployment or deal with the further damage that happens to the economy when nobody has anything to spend.

Extending the deadlines is very very important and I know that however, the people who will finish tier 4 ( again, the 1st wave is 8 weeks away) are in serious trouble. The 1st wave will be the 1st week of April.

If anybody gets an important info regarding any talks of extending the weeks of tier 4 or adding a tier 5, please let us all know. The job market is still terrible out there and many Americans need another lifeline for the essentials.
I know for a fact MSNBC is asking for the long term unemployed stories, and they want the truth on how the extensions are working and if anyone is being left out. You can go to MSNBC and log in or register and then search unemployment and a window for tier 5 comments from the long term unemployed should open. Or you can go to change.org and go to tier 5 to survive and they have a link that takes you right to the MSNBC spot to write your comments. They claim it is for an upcoming story. First News Media ready to listen! That should tell us all who to watch for the truth!!! Also on change.org read about going to washington to present the tier 5 petition, and sign it on change.org if you have not already. At least it is something, all of us need to pitch in and do our parts, so sign the petition, and give $1.00 if you can and do the MSNBC comment!!!!!! It an absolute necesity!!! The end result could be a tier 5, the latter could be and will be homelessness, and hunger, so help us all by doing your part!

Today on fox, a 10 second mention of help for the long term unemployed. I wonder how they ever spared the air time? What a joke! FOX said just enough to make it sound like Congress is really helping those hardest hit.
