After a unity referendum result it is impossible to believe that the UK would keep NI despite the democratically expressed desire of the people there for unity.

No, Britain would be very happy to finally jettison that baggage of colonial history that is NI.

Which means, the British government, British army, intelligence community and security forces would then be on the same side as the IRA and RoI.

It is not just something recent. It goes back centuries

Connla's last words to his father as he dies are that they would have "carried the flag of Ulster to the gates of Rome and beyond"

At the age of seventeen, Cú Chulainn single-handedly defends Ulster from the army of Connacht

The Ulstermen eventually rouse, one by one at first, and finally en masse.

This is interesting. There is footage of Martin McGuinness present as a car bomb is assembled. The vehicle was used in a Londonderry attack in 1972.

I like watching old video/documentaries like the one you say is in the link, and will let you know my take after I do.

The first time I remember hearing about Chulainn was listening to a Thin Lizzy song. Years later after his death, I remember watching a documentary of their lead singer Phil Lynott who was apparently very interested, almost to obsession about Irish mythology and Cu Chulainn.

Here is the song Black Rose;
