I'm burning wood like it was middle of winter. Snow still around here. Absolutely incredible. Most days with snow on ground in March in last 7 decades. And more coming Friday (2-4")

Hang in there guys. We all know we have seasons in northeast.. Just this one seems to be hanging on.

NW Winds are howling over 35mph again. Temps aloft are in single digits F°. Summits must be rough.

Lots of fatigue out there.. I have to check but I don't think we had 3 days straight of normal/above normal temps in over 2 months.

On the same token I think people got too used to things around here.

Forecast lows tonight. Record breaking for here. There's still snow on ground everywhere here.

Burlington not in but posting here anyway.. I made this graphic showing the Top 20 Season Snowfall departures for all Main U.S Climo Sites including Alaska and out West.

Bangor takes 1st spot, Boston had it last week.

All NYC, CT & Maine locations are in.

Islip over 3 feet above normal.

Providence almost 4 feet above.

NYC normal snowfall to date is 24.5", they have 47" of snow

I'm still Burning firewood like its mid winter

Feels like single digits outside this morning. Feels like sub zero in Vermont, NH, & Maine

Wind Chills

Current temps are where the normal lows for January are. At least for here.

Temp departures. Northeast wants to be the Cold spotlight again. And Ohio Valley.

Hi-Res NAM model showing the snow for high elevations & VT tomm afternoon & evening. So heads up on the changeover or snow. Anyone got a discussion tid bit from NWS?

Man that must be something to be on the summits tomorrow and watch the cold front come through and the rain/ice turn to snow and temps dropping.

I never followed up last year from that post. Anyone joining the contest? There was still 32" of ice 4 days ago.

Heard on local radio at 3 p.m. that it was 58 degrees at studio in town-nice to be out in.
Saw few buds on lilac tree, but otherwise no new spring plant growth.
Still some pockets of snow, esp. in shady spots and places where it's been plowed into mountains.

Taken this afternoon on Brattleboro foot trail-which doesn't get plowed.
The snow was slushy & crumbly, second photo shows ice "pool" that's formed.
And "oh the mud"...it nearly ate my sneaker !

There is still 77 inches of snow on top of Mt Mansfield. That's at 3900' too (not at Summit)

They peaked at 90 inches for the season on April 9th.

They have been above normal since the new year and haven't looked back.
