Thunderstorms & lightning in southern part of state this evening, brought some cooling (relief), and a bit of rain (though not enough).
Funny to think how a mere week ago we had frost warnings overnight (temps. in low 30s) and now daytime is in the 80s with sticky humidity.

Had a lovely double rainbow during/after sunset.
Photos taken from 8:06-8:11 p.m.

Sorry for large photo size: when I shrunk the pixel amount, the file size shrank to ridiculously teensy, so I left these "as is".
Tucked the other three photos inside spoiler tags, to try to minimize impact of images slowing down loading of page.

Here's a graphic I made for May 2015.

Since many got rain on the last day I added the ranking for May 1-30 to show some locations were about to get driest May but the rains on the 31st ruined it. Like Providence Rhode Island.

Well, at least we've been getting more rain as of late, which is a relief with regard to the (mild) drought & burn-ban that had been in place for the bottom two counties of state.

Is it too early to get precip records for the month of June? This has been one of the wettest June's several of my local friends can remember.

Dogs need to pee but refuse to step outside ha ha.

Wow! Just checked.. Burlington having the 5th Wettest June on record with 7.37" so far. Not including todays! Only 4 June's were wetter since 1800s. Still 8 days left to record. Wow.

Believe it or not 2013 was 2nd Wettest with 9.86". Missed the Wettest by 0.07"! Held by 1922.

Albany, NY 10th Wettest so far.

2013 was our first full year here, and I remember it was REALLY wet. It rained almost every single day.

So far looking like the rest of this week will stay dry, hopefully!!!

Yup, big front coming through and pattern change. We're waiting for the storms from it here as we take a steam bath outside. Nasty out like a sauna.

Watch your winds. If they haven't switched yet, they'll go from SW to NW once the front fully passes.
