So all models agree there will be a front end thump Monday night of a couple inches. Heads up on the early commute.. But soon after it will change to rain as the storm gets closer carrying the warm air... Timing slightly varies on them but general idea is by mid morning it will be changed over.

Then they differ on if a Clipper comes in Thursday but Clippers never really produce a "snowstorm" so I'm not expecting much snow if it does happen.

Don't see any other big storms in the next 2 weeks but a lot of light snow chances still coming up.

Tuesday was our chance for it. Ugh.

What a bummer. Big week for businesses/resorts up here with the school holiday....a nice dump would've been great. At this point, I'm going to pray it's not a lot of rain.

It's -13 in Rochester this morning, but we do have a nice dry 5" of snow on the ground from this week so it's very pretty in the sun.

I was talking to someone just a short while ago about this...we've gotten soft. We were dealing with temps like these all winter last year...now we get one blast of arctic air and it's big news lol.

The nice thing about these temps with the thin snow cover is a variety of insect pests will be dropping like flies from it. Ticks, invasive hemlock woolly adelgids, and some others. The deep snow protected many of them last year but this time there isn't much snow in many areas.

Big news because it's been so warm! Record warmest for Winter and Top 10 since January 1st.

Last year -19° was the minimum for Burlington. Forecast calls for -14 tomorrow,.
Last year -15° was the lowest for Rutland. Forecast calls for -15.

For other areas like NYC, Boston, and here, the temp may be COLDER than last year. We'll see.

But yeah, totally different in the sense that last yr was persistent. This year its 2-3 days worth. Big deal right?

Great point! & Unlike last year with a deep snowpack which preserved the bugs and kept them warm underneath, this time they might actually disappear.

NWS Forecast for the Lowest Wind Chill Value next 24hrs.

Vortex in Southern Quebec

2pm temps.

Be safe guys. Temps aren't 'that' bad but when the winds blow is what gets you.

Wind Chills near or below zero out there.

Temps have been steadily falling all day...I think we peaked at 5. Negative 6 now. Doesn't include wind chill.
