Cool. Festive type snow. Meanwhile some areas in NY got 1-3 feet with the Lake Effect snow. And meanwhile Buffalo and Syracuse under 1/2".

Based on our forecast, I'd say Burlington will hit 65. Calling for 62 here in Waterbury.

Utterly depressing.

Wanna hear another depressing number?

Burlington, VT currently with a 39.7° December Average Temp would be 4th warmest for the month of March. No wonder why I'm seeing this ..

Looking at a few spots in the Northeast, similar situation. On tap to break Dec record warmest Avg temp which would be like a Top 5 for March.

Some changes look to be coming after next week!

First.. heads up for little snow to rain to snow Monday-Tuesday next week.

Then maybe something brewing around the 2nd?

For now record warm tomorrow.

A Christmas gift for you guys which are in a good spot! It's going to come down where the storm transfers to the coast!

This is from the latest GFS model from the free site of Pivotal Weather. Remember a couple of things when looking at model snow total maps.

1. They are going by 10:1 ratios
2. They are not a forecast, only a possibility based off that particular run.
3. Some include sleet and ice as well
4. Details always change up to the day of so results will too.

Discussions. Heads up travelling Tues Morning

NWS Burlington: (Covers most of VT)

Quote:
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BURLINGTON VT
706 AM EST FRI DEC 25 2015

THINKING SYSTEM WILL HAVE TWO PERIODS OF ACCUMULATING
SNOWFALL
...FIRST ASSOCIATED WITH INITIAL WARM AIR ADVECTION LIFT
AND GOOD DEEP LAYER MOISTURE ADVECTION ON TUESDAY MORNING. NEXT
WILL BE ASSOCIATED WITH POTENT 5H VORT PROGGED TO MOVE DIRECTLY
OVER OUR CWA ON TUESDAY EVENING WITH ADDITIONAL SYNOPTIC SCALE
FORCING AND LEFTOVER DEFORMATION BAND OF ENHANCED 850 TO 500MB
MOISTURE. BY 06Z WEDS SYSTEM IS QUICKLY RACING OFF THE NEW ENGLAND
COAST AND DEEP LAYER MOISTURE IS DISSIPATING...WHICH MAY RESULT IN
SOME LEFTOVER LIGHT FREEZING DRIZZLE...ESPECIALLY IN THE
MOUNTAINS. PROGGED 850MB TEMPS ARE NOW BETWEEN -8C AND -10C ON
TUESDAY...SUPPORTING MID TEENS MOUNTAINS TO MID 20S VALLEYS. TEMPS
TUESDAY NIGHT WILL BE TRICKY WITH EXPECTED FRESH SNOW PACK AND
SOME CLEARING POSSIBLE TOWARD MORNING. GIVEN THE CLOUDS AND WINDS
WILL TREND TOWARD STEADY TEMPS OVERNIGHT.

NWS Albany: (Covers southern VT)

Quote:
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ALBANY NY
642 AM EST FRI DEC 25 2015

THEN...A POTENT SYSTEM RIPPLING THROUGH THE SOUTHERN JET WILL WORK
UP THE OHIO VALLEY. WITH COLD AIR ENTRENCHED OVER THE NORTHEASTERN
CONUS...ENERGY FROM THIS STORM WILL LIKELY TRANSLATE TO A SECONDARY
LOW PRESSURE AREA OFF BY LATER TUESDAY LONG ISLAND. THIS IS A
CLASSIC MILLER TYPE B STORM
.

PRECIPITATION FROM THIS SYSTEM LOOK TO WORK INTO OUR REGION MONDAY
NIGHT INTO EARLY TUESDAY MORNING. TEMPERATURES WILL BE MAINLY IN THE
20S. MOST MODELS NOW LOOK COLD ENOUGH THROUGHOUT THE COLUMN FOR THIS
PRECIPITATION TO BE IN THE FORM OF SNOW...OR SNOW TRANSITIONING TO A
WINTRY MIX (TURNING PERHAPS TO LIQUID RAIN WELL SOUTH ALBANY BUT NOT
UNTIL LATE TUESDAY).

THIS SYSTEM LOOKS TO BRING THE FIRST WIDESPREAD SYNOPTIC SNOWFALL TO
THE REGION
AND COULD MAKE FOR A MESSY COMMUTE BOTH FOR THE MORNING
AND EVENING DRIVES ON TUESDAY. NUMBERS ARE STILL HARD TO PIN DOWN
ESPECIALLY SINCE THE SNOW COULD MIX WITH SLEET AND EVEN SOME
FREEZING RAIN...BUT EITHER WAY...THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR A
SIGNIFICANT SNOW ACCUMULATION
.
