I'm not too upset over the lack of snow, it's helped me get a lot of work done that would have waited till spring in a normal winter.

3 inches of snow fell/accumulated Friday morning in Brattleboro, I saw many related notices of road accidents (via FB).
It was quite a surprise, as the NWS forecast I'd seen had mentioned mostly rain & only fractions of an inch of snow.
Can't guess how long it'll linger-it's chilly tonight, but during the days, temps. continue to be above freezing, in the mid-to-high 30s.

And no, the mildness of this year/season is not at all typical for the area/state.
Have lived here 20 years & this is the least wintry winter I've experienced thus far.

I had 4 to 5 wet inches here in New Britain, CT (southwest of Hartford). Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks (north of Hartford) got 6.6 inches. Albany, NY got nothing. Wow!

Check out Burlington's data from the latest Euro. Gees. COLD!!

483-485 Thickness for a good 18hrs. 850mb temps to -33C?! Whoa. That would be record for Albany, probably near extreme for Burlington for mid February? They don't do Balloon Launches there, so not sure. Would have to check the surface temp history

Sorry, it's in Celsius

(Brattleboro VT) Been snowing since this (Mon.) afternoon-
and as we're having a rare spell of actual winter temperatures (below 32F, incl. during the day), I expect it'll still be there tomorrow.
New (non-scientific measurement, ruler stuck in the snow method) snowfall: 1.5" as of 6:30 p.m., 2.5" as of 9 p.m.

Looks like more light snows coming for Saturday with a clipper. Inverted Trough sets up for Maine.

Next storm to watch is Tuesday. Could bring some decent snows to Vermont but southern half is tricky depending on track. Could change to ice and/or rain.

Then another storm (clipper) comes through on Thursday.

Active!

heads up on the cold. Polar Vortex visits for Valentine weekend

Such ashame. That's all I will say.

So frustrating to finally see a big enough storm and close enough storm to produce a nice snowstorm in Vermont and New England and the damn track goes from the south, up the east coast, then north from NYC to Quebec. I mean come on.

This = Snow to heavy rains Tuesday-Tues night.

Just not your year. Sorry guys.

At least we got this Polar Vortex coming this weekend..
