Per a press release, Clique chief and “nightlife impresario” Andy Masi has “transformed the nightlife scene in Las Vegas with upscale concepts that set trends rather than follow them.” MGM expects Clique to do the same in Maryland, with Felt and Blossom becoming the “destinations to see and be seen in the Capital Region for visitors and locals alike,” said Bill Boasberg, MGM National Harbor general manager.

I missed this article but it provides a good update on the progress being made. They are definitely moving fast now that everything is closed in.

I am shocked by the number of applicants that they have received so far 60K for 4k jobs that is mind blowing. I doubt that they meet their local hire goals given that this is essentially a new industry in the county and their is not going to be a lot of in-county residents that have experience in the more specialized jobs. It appears applicants are going to have to bring their A-game for even the regular jobs.

"Most of the finished goods are already going in," Murren said. " They are literally placing slot machines on the floor already. The carpeting is down. The ceiling treatments are done. The entertainment venue is going to be really spectacular — that’s completely enclosed. They’re energizing the building. All the glazing is in. They’re not only drywalling, but painting all the guest rooms, and it really is quite spectacular.

What we’re seeing happen is many of the dealers and employees are applying to work at National Harbor. We’ll probably have 60,000 applications for the 4,000 new jobs we're adding in Maryland.”

They probably knew that going in. They may have temporary employees from other locations to fill in while the locals get up to speed to reach that 40% goal. I'm not sure if that goal was to be effective day one or by some future predetermined date.

I believe it was over time but its a goal not a requirement so they can try but if the best qualified are not in the county then they should go for the best overall...imo

My guess is that they will provide office space for Doctor's and other medical services to compliment the urgent care facility that they have there.
