What am I going to do? Sleep. Maybe drink. Luckily I have enough savings that I can live a few months without pay before begging (barring some sort of emergency).

Although, I've had a bad day. The good in me wants to think that I'll look up volunteer opportunities and do something worthwhile with my time. If it lasts longer than a day or so, that's pretty likely as I'll get bored.

I luckily have a back up plan now, as my dad told me I can come back to NC and work with him...

though i fully expect for Congress to extend the budget next week for 2 more weeks and then come up with a fix by that point

I'm usually not political on this board, but I will say that anyone who votes Republican is a real *******. You don't play with the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of people.

Sure, it's fine when congress plays with the livelihood of hundreds of thousands of private sector workers, which they do every single day. But god forbid federal workers have to suffer the agony of the same plight as the rest of world!
