The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) issued study findings last November that revealed that federal workers make an average of 24 percent less than their counterparts in the private sector. The only exception they found in the wage gap was among lower grade/entry level employees who make more than their counterparts in the private sector. This is an annual report from the BLS to the Federal Salary Council. The study took bonuses, incentive pay, and education levels into account.

I don't think you do. I'm not a federal employee. There is nothing for me to be bitter about. I'm not affected in any way by federal salaries, but I'll stand by the fact that they are not competetive with private sector salaries within any meaningful context.

You, on the other hand, appear to be struggling with some issues: posting in bold and emotes about the evils of federal pay, ignoring any context that frames an accurate salary comparisson, challenging personal anecdotes that you have no knowledge of, mischaracterizing or fundamentally misunderstanding very simple statements, apparently thinking that private sector salaries and non profit salaries are interchangable barometers for competetive pay, accusing people of hiding behind screennames in a simple conversation, and then challenging people to match your income and lifestyle on some twitter battlefield. I'll match your bitter, and raise you an insecure.
