Hmm, agreed - just! However 8:30 sunrise for London on December 8th isn't one of the two options we have to choose from and 8.52am sunrise never mind the 9.whatever am most of the rest of the country would get still = no thanks!

Tokyo has probably the most interested daylight i ever witnessed.
I've been there twice (April-May & September-October)

Late-April:
04:55 to 18:20 (13h & 25m)

Earl-May:
04:45 to 18:30 (13h & 45m)

Mid-May:
04:40 to 18:40 (14h & 0m)

Late-September:
05:30 to 17:35 (12h & 5m)

Early-October:
05:40 to 17:20 (11h & 40m)

Mid-October:
05:45 to 17:05 (11h & 20m)

At 7 in the morning in Tokyo it felt like 12:00 in the Netherlands and 7 in the evening felt like 00:00.

Longest daylight in Tokyo:
June - 04:25 to 19:00 (14h & 35m)

Shortest daylight in Tokyo:
December - 06:45 to 16:30 (9h & 45m)

Sunrise: 7:43 AM
Sunset: 4:46 PM

Does anybody notice that the earliest sunset usually happens roughly at around 10 December each year rather than at the winter solstice? And usually, starting the 15 or the 16, the sunset gets later and later until late June?

Queens, NY [40°N]

Sunrise: 7:07 AM
Sunset: 4:28 PM

Day length: 9 hours & 21 minutes

This always feels so unusual, the sun's not supposed to set in the afternoon, not too long ago the sun was setting 4 hours later. I miss summer.

Sunrise 7:09AM
Sunset 4:31PM

I love these early sunsets. Just something about the glow on the horizon against the bare trees is nice.
