#3 is very pretty. I've never witnessed a scene like that in NY. I wonder if special conditions are necessary for this to occur.

Pure disgusting here.. absolutely depressing and miserable weather. I wonder if the heat related deaths includes suicides.

Give me a break with this heat. Practically no wind and when there is its from the SE. No rain all month. No clouds in sky now. Real feel in the 90s. Humidity too high.. Someone please call me stupid for still being here.

Please give me my sub zero temps!!

Another day of standing under the glaring sun. High reached 90 F, though at least the humidity was tolerable.

I wish I could jump in my car and drive up to Caribou, ME. Currently overcast and 63 F there. Sounds heavenly.

Kevin Myatt writes a weather blog for the Roanoke Times and today he writes about the heat wave that is finally over:

This historic heat wave is over for Southwest Virginia. For Roanoke, it was 11 days averaging 99 degrees–4 days over 100, 6 97 to 99 and 1 at 94. It appears to be the most severe heat wave of that length or longer since 12 days averaged 99.5 degrees in 1932. The last heat wave of similar intensity was in 1977, which actually had a couple different periods separated by a couple of cooler days. I’ll get back to examining this heat wave historically.

Still far too many homes that have been without power since Friday, June 29th. New outages last night as this front began to move in. I will be very happy to have some much needed rain along with lower temps.

What a hopeless piece of turd this summer has turned out to be. I'm seriously going to F off to the south of France, just drive off, screw work, and camp down there for the rest of the summer if this DOES NOT CHANGE. TERRIBLE.

I think you should take a vacation somewhere warmer. From the perspective of someone who likes either hot, dry, or sunny weather (someone not like myself), this summer in Buxton has been terrible and prospects are pretty much hopeless.
