Maybe its a coast thing but typically when we get East winds here we get this annoying type of drizzle/mist. The one where you cant keep your wipers on normal but you cant keep them off either. The one where you can be outside and not need an umbrella but after few minutes get wet.

It's been a constant mist for 6hrs now got .05" of water from it. Pretty cool from a weather standpoint.

Min temp 62F. Max 65F. Not much movement.

Current temp map shows interesting gradient. Just a short distance away in PA they are warm in the 70s/80s opposed to 50s/60s drizzle in CT.

Another Jet Stream dip for the West.

Euro 500mb Heights. Look at the wave of the northern Hem and the big Western dip. As an Eastern Cold Weather fan, I'd rather see this pattern now then mid winter. I hope it changes soon (I think it will in couple weeks). Trough over Western Europe as well mid week

GFS12z says 992mb rain storm next week over the areas with a snowpack (which should still be there by this time frame but less than it was). Rain good for melting, bad for flooding.

The coastal low is remnants of Karen. Euro has it too. Looks like it spins and lingers off the coast.

What does a snowpack (or ice) do? It's like a refrigerator keeping the air cool.

As a warm autumn fan, I would rather have this pattern now than in winter too, though both would be nice. Actually, if this pattern were to stick around past winter then the chance of a below avrg summer would be a lot higher. I'd take a freezing winter if it meant an early spring and hot summer.

Couldn't be more different here. Our high temp today was 86F and sunny just about all day. Felt like a typical August or July day. Down at the beaches the high only got into the low 70'sF.

Even the ocean is now 71F at Atlantic City.

Mist here, too. Hovered around the mid to high 50s here. Yesterday the sun broke through the mist. In Boston, mid 70s with some humidity. The foliage I saw driving looks like some of the best I've seen in years.
