We've had a few months since 2012 below average in my area, but not many. September 2015 and February 2014 have been the last two below average months.

What sticks out to me on that is if you take away the El Nino years of 1998, 2010 and recent, the trend has been pretty flat for 2 decades.

And looks like the mean 13 mth avg only up about 0.4 degrees since 1980s. ( -0.2 then to +0.2 now)

If you start with 98, the trend shows the planet heading for an ice age

Dont fear.... how high is the freezing level? Gees.

NWS Philly..

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MOUNT HOLLY NJ
338 PM EST TUE NOV 3 2015

ANOTHER UNSEASONABLY WARM DAY EXPECTED ON WEDNESDAY WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES SIMILAR TO TODAY`S. SOME LATE DAY CLOUDINESS WILL MOVE IN. WINDS CONTINUE LIGHT BUT OUT OF AN EASTERLY DIRECTION AS THE RIDGE AXIS MOVES SLOWLY THROUGH THE REGION

THURSDAY STARTS UNSEASONABLY WARM, BUT FEAR NOT ANYONE THAT WOULD LIKE SOME NOVEMBER WEATHER IN NOVEMBER, NEAR NORMAL TEMPERATURES SHOULD RETURN STARTING THE WEEKEND

CONVECTIVE TEMPS ARE INTO THE 70S. AS NOTED BY THE MID SHIFT, MOST OF THE MOISTURE IS IN THE LOWER LEVELS AND WHILE THE CAP IS HIGH (600-700MB) ENOUGH FOR SHOWERS, ITS NOT HIGH ENOUGH FOR THUNDER. THE FREEZING LEVEL IS MUCH CLOSER TO SUMMER NORMALS THAN NOVEMBER NORMALS

Also realized that today's low temperature breaks the all-time record for warmest November min temp...76 F. And before G8RCAT comes in here and says there's only been a period of 10 years, I'll say that records go back to 1892.
