32 days, in inland Orange County, CA. Every month this year except January has at least one. The 90+ degree days are spread out all over the place; the longest streak is 5 consecutive days which has happened three times (mid-March, end April/beginning May, and mid-August). And we are probably going to get at least 5 days straight at 90+ this week.
Those are the sources I used for my numbers. I am asking where the averages are being taken from. If you can get an average from the NOW data, please let me know how. Or really from anywhere on their pages, because clearly I do not know.
For example, Climatology of North Georgia (excluding the Mountains)

Climatology of Central Georgia
TemperatureTemperature - The area experiences all four seasons. Summers typically consist of long spells of warm and humid weather. Average afternoon high temperatures are in the lower 90s. Readings of 90 or higher can be expected on 70 to 80 days.
Which one is Atlanta? (it's in climate Div 2, which makes it northern)

Expect the cities in the Northeast and greater Ohio Valley to add another day or two to their tallies before this heat wave is all said and done.
Jealous of those DPs. Ours hasn't reached 70 this month.
Today may be the last 70F+ dew point of the season
Btw, MDW's max temp is 95F/35C
