Thundersnow in Iowa? I'm intrigued how active the Midwest is this morning. Southern states haven't gotten going yet.

Saw your post and had to play the loop. Yup... It showed up on their OBS report an hour ago

Heavy Snow with Thunder in the area. Whiteout! 1/4 Mile Visibility. Friggin Iowa! What a year for them. Gees. Upper Low is closed off and typically needed for Thundersnow!

Paul Pastelok Video today. He agrees with Phil the Ground Hog?

He has NO IDEA how many storms there will be next week but more importantly.... WARM! (That will get you to watch the video)

He says watch the warmth come back because the PNA is starting to drop back down which means a trough in West, Ridge in East.

^^

I'm going to watch the video shortly. I don't know how long the cold will last, but there will be a cold shot next week. The "Big Three" models all on board.

Video said it will probably be cold a few days next week but warm up the week after then cool down after so get ready for a roller coaster ride.

PNA is forecasted to be on the positive side of the ledger for the next two weeks, not forecasted to even go negative.
